I have always been a style magazine junkie...piles of periodicals surround me and I have issues that I love dating back to ...high school! Recently,however, I have questioned what has happened to publishing--where has all the style gone--I flip through magazines in seconds not hours and they all have started to look alike...with ads that make me question again-"Where has all the style gone??"
My new Best Friend in the magazine pile isn't actually a "magazine" at all, in fact I cannot even toss it on the pile---it is an online e-zine LONNY Magazine. Founded by a former Domino editor,Michelle Adams and photographer Patrick Cline, LONNY premiered late last fall and the rave reviews have not stopped--it is a joy to click through the pages Of LONNY. If you miss Domino you will adore LONNY as it goes places and delivers a style periodical that Domino couldn't.
.The minute you pop into LONNY you will see you are in a new place for design magazines--fresh,colorful,beautifully photographed,full of creative ideas and accessible inspiration-and really fun as you can simply click on anything you like and be taken to the source!! In the June/July issue there is a feature on a Bunny Williams designed Sea Island Georgia beach condo, designer Elizabeth Bauer's world of color and collections from her Gramery Park home and the lakeside home of Kate Spade creative director Deborah Lloyd...If you love something in a room just mouse your way over it and a linkie will pop up to take you to the source...this could get dangerous!
Without the constraints of pages LONNY has the luxury of highlighting details and bringing readers up close to the inspiration behind each featured home and article. Each issue is crammed full with wonderful images and fabulous new resources. I discovered so many new places to play!! Fair warning--you may got lost with each page you click as you go visit the wonderful places to inspire that LONNY has within its in pages-do what I did, click through and then go back and zoom in!! on each page...3 hours!! later I was still clicking--and finding fabulous!
LONNY is FREE! but they do have a "Contribute" link. You may not be able to tear out favorite pages but you can print them off and of course bookmark all your faves. I'm loving LONNY and I think you will too--Go Play!
